Sustainable Textiles, Apparel, and Innovative New Materials Centre

SusTAIN™ | www.sustain.center

In line with Ramos & Fortier’s efforts to support research in textile engineering, innovation and sustainability, the company will be launching the SUStainable Textiles, Apparel, and Innovative New Materials Centre SusTAIN. SusTAIN will be an innovation and training centre in Vancouver that will showcase the latest innovations in textiles and materials science that address challenges relating to implementing closed-loop/open-loop recycling, circular economy, zero waste, and a sustainable product lifecycle, among others. Many of the items that will be on display are research output from the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation (Ústav pro nanomateriály, pokročilé technologie a inovace) and the Faculty of Textile Engineering (Fakulta textilní) of the Technical University of Liberec (Technická univerzita v Liberci), Czech Republic. The featured inaugural items are in various stages of market readiness, and some are already in use by Czech and other European companies.

See initial planned course offerings for the training centre by clicking on area of interest below. Canadian universities interested in partnering can get in touch with us.

NOTE: The safety of our team and guests is most important to us. In this regard, due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (COVID-19) and the more recent Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), some of our planned events will be re-scheduled. Please follow us on X.com (formerly Twitter) for updates and to post your questions and suggestions. We thank you for your continued support.
